Young dolphins leaping through the air

We arrived dockside in Greenport, NY on Wednesday night. The two young dolphins above played with us for several hours on the second day of our voyage from St. Augustine, while other, older members of the pod watched from a little bit farther away. They would leave from time to time, and then come back with more friends. The most amazing part was the way they seemed truly curious about us. They would jump into the air and also swim on their sides in order to get a better look at us, and make eye contact. As they were leaving, three of the dolphins slapped the water with their tails in a farewell gesture. These are truly intelligent creatures.

The Mentor

Monday, April 12th, 2010

I went home last weekend for a big family gathering to celebrate my Mom’s 50th birthday. My Grandfather (we call him “Giddo”) and I were tasked with documenting the event. Here’s a picture I snapped of him while we were getting ready.

Giddo Bashour

Giddo always used to let me play with his cameras, and things really took off when he gave me my first D-SLR as a high-school graduation present. I started taking really cool pictures with that ol’ D70 right away:

The lights of a semi streak down a rural highway.

The Nikon D70 is now in the loving hands of my friend Pat LaClair as he travels around the country with Americorp.

Portrait Sessions in NYC Special – $125 for 2 hours

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Model: Ellen Brunsgaard

March 12 – 14 Only!

I am coming to NYC this March with my amazing assistant Bailey! Take advantage of this great offer. For just $125 — a fraction of the cost of a “professional” studio — we will spend two hours with you capturing what it is you love most about yourself. This price includes unlimited images and wardrobe changes at your choice of locations around Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan (we have some favorite spots as well if you’re not sure). We will be using controlled natural lighting for a look similar to several of the shots below. We can set up a backdrop or you can use your favorite part of the city for your backdrop. At the end of the shoot, you will receive all of the images at full resolution on a CD, and get to pick your favorite for us to edit and print (8×10″ or 8×12″). Call 802 735-2274 or e-mail josh@joshuamlee.com to arrange a session.

Here are some portraits I’ve done recently, just to show you what a great deal this is!
