I think I’ve finally figured out this picture thing from Indian hotel computers. Here are my pictures from today.
- The crowded streets of Chennai
- Not what you think — this is how public phones are advertised.
- Local women make flower necklaces for pilgrims to buy as offerings
- The church of San Tome, where the remains of St. Thomas are buried.
- Inside San Tome
- A woman sells necklaces on the street.
- More items to buy as offerings, this time at a Hindu temple to Shiva (Siva)
- A french tourist asks, “Is taking your shoes off the Indian National Sport?”
- Temple of Siva, with pilgrims awaiting entrance (non-hindus are not allowed inside)
- Some of my companions…
- The other side of the Siva temple…
- Pilgrims light votive oil candles in honor of Siva
- Pouring oil to be lit.
- The children brought to the ceremony got pretty bored…
- The temple again, with a citrus twist.
